This program implements a proactive and preventative approach aimed at keeping your team mentally healthy
Built on four key pillars developed with expert psychologists to support core challenges FIFO workers face
SANO’s Mental Wellbeing Program forms an important part of the ‘SANO Well’ stream. The Mental Wellbeing Program is unlike others on the market. Rather than focusing on mental health problems and suicide prevention, the program takes a positive and preventative approach. It is designed to keep workers at the thriving end of the mental health continuum by building awareness, skills and habits that prevent burnout, disengagement and mental health decline.
How the Program Creates Benefit
Support workers to maintain positive mental wellbeing, navigate relationship pressures and avoid burnout
Reinforce sustainable behaviour change through regular touchpoints, crew-based education and accessible resources
Provide leaders with clear, practical insights into workforce health, engagement and risk exposure
Four Pillars that Underpin the program
Awareness - In high pressure environments mental health challenges often go unnoticed or unspoken which can lead to silent struggles and unhealthy coping. These sessions focus on increasing awareness and decreasing mental health stigma so workers are better equipped to respond and support rather than react to themselves and others.
Perspective - These sessions focus on helping workers reframe pressure and shift mindset. Exploring how individuals process the reality of FIFO demands with the goal to build increased mental flexibility and clarity to best handle the challenges with strength.
Connection - Feelings of disconnection or isolation over time can impact personal identity and mood. This pillar aims to strengthen relationships both on-site and at home by building habits of real, meaningful connection which is a key line of defence for positive mental wellbeing.
Mind-Body - Physical health directly impacts mental health; when the body is depleted it impacts the mind's ability to manage stress, regulate emotions, decision making and focus. These sessions aim to increase understanding and provide practical ways to support their bodies to best support mental health across swing.
The program is delivered by qualified psychologist and mental health experts through a combination of face-to-face engagement, ongoing support and worksite specific insights, ensuring mental wellbeing remains visible, relevant and actionable.
